PRIVACY POLICY

1. INTRODUCTION

Doodlee ("App", "we", "us", or "our") is a couple/relationship app that lets two partners connect privately, share photos, and draw doodles together. This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, use, and disclosure practices.

By using Doodlee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the App.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Profile Information: A display name or nickname, an optional avatar/profile photo, and optional relationship details you choose to add (such as an anniversary date)
Couple Connection: A pairing code or invite link used to connect your account with your partner's account
Photos: Photos you choose to upload to your shared couple gallery
Drawings: Doodles and drawings you create on the App's shared canvas, including drawing strokes, colors, and any drawing metadata (such as timestamps)
Messages: Any messages, captions, or reactions you send to your partner within the App

2.2 Automatically Collected Data

App Usage Data: Features accessed, session activity, and general engagement patterns
Device Information: iOS version, device model, and app version
Push Notification Token: A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to deliver notifications to your device (for example, when your partner sends a doodle, photo, or message)

2.3 Location Information (Optional)

Doodlee may request access to your location only if you choose to tag a photo or a shared moment with a place
Location access is entirely optional, is requested only at the moment you use a location-based feature, and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings
We do not track your location in the background, and location is never collected without your explicit action

2.4 Anonymous Identity

Doodlee creates an anonymous account for you automatically using Supabase Anonymous Authentication — you are never asked to sign up with an email address or password to start using the App
This anonymous identifier is used to keep your profile, couple connection, gallery, doodles, and subscription status consistent across app launches
If you choose to link an email address or other identifier for account recovery, that information is stored securely and used only for that purpose

2.5 Purchase Data

If you subscribe to Doodlee Pro, your purchase and receipt information is processed by Apple's App Store; we receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your full payment details (such as card numbers), which Apple handles directly

2.6 Data NOT Collected

Precise Background Location: We do NOT track your location in the background or without your action
Contacts: We do NOT access your device contacts
Biometric Identifiers: We do NOT collect fingerprints or facial recognition data

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

Core Functionality: Connecting you with your partner, syncing your shared photo gallery and doodles, delivering messages, and sending push notifications about your partner's activity
Account Continuity: Keeping your anonymous profile, couple connection, and subscription status consistent across sessions and devices
App Improvement: Analyzing anonymized usage patterns to improve app features and reliability
Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable laws and protecting our legal rights

We do not use your data for advertising or for any purpose beyond operating the App's stated features.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

4.1 Cloud Storage (Supabase)

Your profile information, couple connection, shared photos, drawings, and messages are stored in our database and storage backend, provided by Supabase
This data is stored so that it can be synced between you and your connected partner in near real time
Access to your couple's shared data is restricted to the two paired accounts

4.2 Push Notifications (Firebase)

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) solely to deliver push notifications to your device
Firebase receives your device's FCM token for this purpose only; it is not used for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose by Doodlee

4.3 Security Measures

All network communications between the App and our backend use HTTPS/TLS encryption
Access to stored data is restricted through authenticated, per-couple access rules
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure

5. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES

No Sale of Personal Data: We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data, photos, drawings, or messages to third parties
Your Partner: Because Doodlee is a shared couple experience, photos, doodles, messages, and profile details you add are visible to the partner you are paired with. Please only share what you are comfortable sharing with your partner
Service Providers: We share data only with the infrastructure providers necessary to run the App — Supabase (database and storage) and Firebase/Google (push notifications). Apple: If you subscribe to Doodlee Pro, Apple processes your purchase as described in Section 2.5
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request

6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Your profile, photos, doodles, and messages are retained for as long as your account and couple connection remain active
You can delete individual photos, doodles, or messages at any time within the App
If you disconnect from your partner or delete your account, your shared data is removed from active use according to our deletion process; some data may be retained briefly in backups before permanent deletion
Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete your cloud-stored data, since it is designed to sync across devices; to fully delete your account and data, use the in-app account deletion option or contact us

7. YOUR DATA RIGHTS

Access and Correction: You can view and edit your profile, photos, and doodles directly within the App
Deletion: You can delete specific content at any time, or request full account deletion by contacting us or using the in-app option
Data Portability: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at the email below

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR or Turkish KVKK), including the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Doodlee is intended for adults in a relationship and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
