1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By downloading, installing, and using Find My Device - BFinder ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, do not use this App.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
2. LICENSE AND USE
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
3. PRICING
BFinder is currently free to download and use for all features during its initial launch period. We reserve the right to introduce advertising, an optional premium tier or subscription, or other monetization in a future update. If we do, we will clearly disclose new pricing or ads before you are charged or shown them, and any existing functionality you already rely on will not be locked behind a paywall retroactively without notice.
4. WHAT THE APP DOES AND DOES NOT DO
BFinder scans for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices and estimates their distance from signal strength. Please understand its real capabilities and limits:
- Distance is an estimate, not exact. Bluetooth signal strength (RSSI) is affected by walls, obstacles, and interference. Displayed distances are approximate.
- BFinder cannot make third-party devices play a sound unless they support the standard Bluetooth "Immediate Alert" feature. Most consumer devices (including AirPods) do not support this; the App will tell you plainly when a device doesn't support it rather than pretending it can.
- BFinder cannot trigger sounds on Apple AirTags. Only Apple's own Find My network can do that.
- BFinder does not provide precision UWB (Ultra-Wideband) direction-finding on non-Apple accessories. No third-party app can add this capability to arbitrary hardware.
- Tracker detection is best-effort. It identifies devices using publicly known Bluetooth manufacturer signatures for AirTag/Find My, Tile, and Samsung SmartTag. It may not catch every tracker model, and it is not a guarantee of your physical safety.
5. USER RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1 Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use BFinder to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Harass, stalk, or track another person without their consent
- Interfere with or disrupt devices you do not own or lack authorization to interact with
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or misuse the App outside of its intended purpose
5.2 Your Own Devices
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan, connect to, or interact with any device you use the App on. Using the App's "Ring Device" or connection features on a device you do not own may be unlawful in your jurisdiction.
6. DISCLAIMERS
- No Warranty: The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- Not a Safety Guarantee: Tracker detection is a convenience feature based on public signal signatures, not a certified anti-stalking or security product. If you believe you are being tracked or stalked, contact local law enforcement
- Third-Party Hardware: We do not control, and are not responsible for, the behavior of the third-party Bluetooth devices the App detects
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to inaccurate distance estimates, failure to detect a device, or failure to locate a lost item.
8. TERMINATION
We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time.
9. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
