PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: September 8, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
Dozla ("App", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal injection, dose, weight, and side-effect tracking application for people using GLP-1 class medications (such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or Saxenda) for weight management. This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, use, and disclosure practices.
Dozla is an independent, third-party tracking tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, or any pharmaceutical manufacturer. Medication and brand names are used only for identification purposes.
By using Dozla, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the App.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Profile Information: Medication choice, dose, injection frequency, age, biological sex, height, starting/goal weight
- Health Tracking Data: Injection records and body site, weight entries, side-effect logs, water/protein/calorie entries, body measurements
- Progress Photos (optional): Before/after photos you choose to add to your body-tracking journal
- Support Preferences: The goals and challenges you select during onboarding, used only to personalize in-app messaging
2.2 Automatically Collected Data
- App Usage Data: Features accessed, session activity, general engagement patterns
- Device Information: iOS version, device model, app version
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA): Collected only if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, and only once advertising is enabled in the App (see Section 2.4)
2.3 Health App (Apple Health) Integration
- If you enable it, Dozla can read your weight and step count from Apple Health, and can optionally write weight entries you log in Dozla back to Apple Health
- This integration is entirely optional and controlled through Apple's Health permission system; you can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings
2.4 Advertising and Purchase Data
- Advertising: Dozla's free tier is supported in part by advertising. Advertising is not active in the initial release and will be introduced in an early post-launch update; when active, ads may be served by a third-party ad network (such as Google AdMob), which may collect device and advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT): Before accessing your IDFA for personalized ads, we request your permission through Apple's ATT framework. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on cross-app tracking
- Purchases: If you subscribe to Dozla Plus, your purchase and receipt validation data is processed by RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, and Apple's App Store
2.5 Data NOT Collected
- Precise Location: We do NOT collect your GPS location
- Contacts: We do NOT access your contacts
- Biometric Identifiers: We do NOT collect fingerprints or facial recognition data for authentication
3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- Primary Purpose: Provide personalized dose scheduling, injection-site rotation, weight/side-effect tracking, and progress insights
- App Functionality: Calculate reminders, generate charts and reports, personalize onboarding messaging
- Advertising: Once introduced, display ads to support free access to the App; Dozla Plus subscribers do not see ads
- Data Improvement: Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve app features
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and protect our legal rights
4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
4.1 Local Storage
- Your health tracking data (injections, weight, side effects, measurements) is stored locally on your device using SwiftData
- Progress photos are treated with extra care: photo files are stored only in your device's local app storage and are never included in cloud sync or any database — they never leave your device unless you personally share them
- When you uninstall the App, all local data is deleted from your device
4.2 Cloud Synchronization (Optional)
- You may optionally enable iCloud synchronization through Apple CloudKit to keep your tracking data available across your own devices
- Data synced to CloudKit is encrypted by Apple and stored in your personal iCloud account, not on our servers
- This feature is entirely optional and user-controlled
4.3 Anonymous Identity
- Dozla creates an anonymous account for you automatically (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication) — you are never asked to sign up, enter an email address, or provide personal identifying information to use the App
- This anonymous identifier is stored securely in your device's Keychain and is used only to keep your subscription status and analytics consistent across app launches
4.4 Security Measures
- App data is encrypted at rest using iOS system encryption
- All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Access to any stored data is restricted to the App itself
5. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES
- No Sale of Health Data: We do NOT sell, trade, or share your personal health tracking data (injections, weight, side effects, photos) with third parties
- Advertising Partners: Once advertising is active, we may use a third-party ad network to display ads within the App. See the applicable network's privacy policy for details, e.g. Google's: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Purchase Processing: RevenueCat processes your subscription purchase and receipt data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple CloudKit Only: If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored with Apple (iCloud) according to Apple's privacy terms
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request
6. YOUR DATA RIGHTS
6.1 Access and Deletion
- You can access and edit all your personal data through the App itself
- You can delete specific entries (injections, weight, side effects, photos) at any time
- Upon App uninstallation, all local data is permanently deleted from your device (iCloud-synced data can be removed separately from your iCloud account)
6.2 Data Portability
- You can export your tracking data as a PDF report, or as JSON/CSV, at any time
- Exports are generated locally on your device and are not sent to our servers
- You control when and with whom you share these exports
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Dozla is intended for adults managing their own GLP-1 treatment and is not intended for individuals under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. RETENTION POLICY
- Local Data: Stored on your device indefinitely until you manually delete it or uninstall the App
- CloudKit Data: Synced as long as you keep iCloud synchronization enabled
- Log Data: Device logs are retained only for troubleshooting and are automatically cleared by iOS
9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where required, displaying a notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
