What does Thocky do?

Thocky lives in your macOS menu bar and plays authentic mechanical-switch acoustics — Holy Panda, Cherry MX Blue/Red/Black/Brown, NovelKeys Cream, Glorious Panda, Turquoise, and Vintage Typewriter — as you type on any keyboard.

Why does it ask for Input Monitoring permission?

Thocky needs Input Monitoring to detect key-down and key-up event timings system-wide so it knows when to trigger the switch sound. It inspects only keystroke timestamp intervals and discards them immediately. Nothing is logged, stored, or transmitted anywhere. There is zero network code in the app.

Why does it ask for Accessibility permission?

Accessibility permission is optional. Granting it keeps the floating keyboard overlay responsive over full-screen apps and unlocks upcoming per-app sound profiles. Thocky works normally without it.

No sound is playing — what should I check?

1) Make sure the toggle at the top of the Thocky menu bar popover is ON. 2) Confirm Input Monitoring permission is granted in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security. 3) Open Thocky Studio → Sound Studio and ensure Volume is not at 0%. 4) Quit Thocky from the popover and reopen it.

How do I uninstall Thocky?

Quit Thocky from its menu bar popover, then drag Thocky.app from Applications to the Trash. If you enabled Launch at Login, disable it first in Thocky's Settings tab.
